Dr. Rainer Pammiger studied Mechanical Engineering at the Vienna Technical University (VUT) and the University of Salford (UK). Since 2002 he works at the Institute for Engineering Design at the VUT, where he manages national and EU sponsored research projects. These focus on the development of methods and tools to perform environmental assessments (e.g., Life Cycle Assessment), product development (e.g., ECODESIG Pilot) as well as environmental communications (e.g., Energy efficiency labels). Dr. Pamminger´s doctoral work concentrated on the integration of environmental requirements during the product development process for tramways.
Since 2011 he is part of the ECODESIGN company team, and works in the conception and development of tools that integrate environmental aspects on product development processes of diverse clients. He also coordinates the customization for enterprises of the web platform ECODESIGN+ for the assessment of the Carbon Footprint of products.
