Technical guide about the Asian hornet in four languages!

Our technical guide for the Monitoring, control and prevention of the invasive Asian hornet Vespa velutina, is available now in German, Slovak, English and French! 

With the recent (2023), confirmed reports of Asian hornets found for the first time in Hungary and the Czech Republic, our guide aims at disseminating key information to support beekeepers and civil society better understand this challenge, and get prepared to take action.

ECODESIGN company at the EPE 2023 Conference!

For the first time we particpated at the 2023 European Power Electronics and Applications Conference (EPE) in Aarlborg, Denmark! Together with the Ecodesign Research team of the TU Vienna, we submitted the paper titled "Looking beyond energy efficiency - The environmental aspects and impacts of Wide Band Gap (WBG) applications and devices over their life cycle".

System Efficiency Policy Paper at the 2022 ACEEE Summer study!

Our join paper with experts from the IEA-4E titled "System Efficiency Policy: the Next Level of Energy Savings" was succesfully presented at the 2022 ACEEE Summer study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings. 

What is the potential for energy savings from regulating systems?

As part of the IEA-4E systems project team, and together with policy experts we investigated broader policies focused on the energy efficiency of systems, to address a larger share of the energy consumption in an integral way and thus increase energy savings.

IEA 4E publishes annual report 2021!

The International Energy Agency 4E Technology Collaboration Program aims to investigate topics related to the energy efficiency of electrical and electronic devices, in order to contribute to a sustainable energy system. 

European Commission publishes a proposal for a New Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation

In March 2022, the European Commission published a proposal for a new Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), which shall cover all products introduced to the EU market, including their components and intermediate products. The ESPRs objective: "Making sustainable products the norm in Europe".

Life Cycle Thinking and Wide Band Gap power electronics

Together with experts from the TU Vienna and the Austrian Institute of Technology we released a  paper for the International e.nova 2021 Conference titled: A "life cycle thinking” approach to assess differences in the energy use of SiC vs. Si power semiconductors.

Ready to roll - Frauscher´s LCA and EPDs are ready!

The ECODESIGN company assessed by means of a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the environmental performance of a wheel detection system of the Austrian company Frauscher Sensortechnik GmbH. This complete wheel detection system safely monitors track sections and enables the secure operations of railways worldwide.

Stop the Vespa velutina!

In a new ERASMUS+ project, we are working with international partners to develop a knowledge campaign to stop the spread of the invasive hornet species Vespa velutina in Europe. The project started on 1.11.2021 and will run until 2023.

PECTA Experts Workshop on Wide Band Gap Semiconductor Technologies

On April 07, 2021 the third expert workshop of PECTA took place virtually. PECTA aims at exploring emerging and energy efficient Wide Band Gap (WBG) semiconductor technologies. More than 30 experts participated in the online workshop to discuss current PECTA tasks and results.

The Total Energy Model of connected devices is updated and interactive!

Network connected devices can significantly reduce the energy consumption through control and optimization of systems that deliver energy services. Still, managing and communicating data over a network requires additional energy. The Total Energy model - TEM of the 4E Electronic Devices and Networks Annex - EDNA provides a quantitative model of the total additional global energy consumption of network connected devices globally and regionally.

The ECODESIGN company is leading the "Total Energy Model (TEM)" work in EDNA, for which a new interactive version is now accessible online!

Successful 3rd event on Circular Public Procurement

Green Public Procurement (GPP) in the EU

ECODESIGN is partner in the Horizon2020 project CO2Fokus

The EU Horizon2020 project CO₂Fokus has started and aims to develop a cutting-edge technology able to convert industrial CO₂ into dimethyl ether (DME), a compound largely employed in the chemical industry which can also be used as fuel.

The energy performance of the EVSE was the topic discussed in this one day workshop with national and international experts.

ECODESIGN company and TEKNIMAP agree cooperation in Spain

In March 2017 ECODESIGN company GmbH and the Spanish firm TEKNIMAP Energía y Medio Ambiente S.L. signed a one year cooperation agreement to jointly offer services to the Spanish market.

Our productive cooperation with market pioneer METEKA generated a Life Cycle Assessment the corresponding Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), and an Environmental Factsheet of the MEDISTER® products.
